Automation and HVAC Systems Powering Reliable Water Treatment
Project Goals
Our goal was to deliver automated control and HVAC systems that enhance treatment reliability, operational efficiency, and environmental conditions within the water treatment facility.
Thompson Solutions Group contributed key systems work to the Remsen Water Treatment Plant project, supporting the facility’s modernization and operational efficiency. The plant employs advanced purification processes to convert raw source water into clean, treated water for the community.
Our scope included the installation and programming of the plant’s automated control systems, which manage critical treatment processes with precision and consistency. These systems use sensors and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to monitor parameters such as flow, pressure, and water levels, and to adjust equipment operations automatically in real time. Automated controls reduce the need for manual intervention, improve treatment reliability, and help maintain consistent water quality.
In addition, TSG installed the HVAC system, incorporating automatic fresh-air dampers that respond to changes in humidity to maintain indoor comfort and proper air circulation. We also added mini-split units in the office and electrical room to ensure effective temperature control in these critical spaces. Together, these systems support both the functional performance and occupant comfort of the facility.
